ah, don't misunderstand. i agree with you on that; violence has its uses, as does torture. but the law is supposed to be an unflinching and rigid institution so that it can function as intended.

if everything can be argued, then innocence and guilt no longer mean anything. justice becomes subjective to whoever has power.

personally, i'd rather get rid of my enemies right away.
